Lost Spring Class 12 Summary :
The Lost spring consists of two parts-
(i) "Sometimes I find a rupees in the garbage" -The story of Saheb-e-Alam and
(ii) "I want to drive a car" -Story of Mukesh, Son of a Bangles maker.
In the first the writer tells about the condition of ragpickers in Seemapuri. They settled there after migration from Dhaka (Bangladesh). The author's watched Saheb, a ragpicker who is always search of 'Gold' in neighborhood. Garbage is actually the means of survival for his family. He sometimes find a coin or two from it. There kids have desires to study and Saheb asked the author to join her school. Which she told that she was going to build.
Later on Saheb, starts working at a tea stall where he earn 800 rupees. But the job takes away his liberty🗽.
The second part is about the life of Mukesh who is from Firozabad. All the law of child labour are ignored hare. Children live in dark houses and around fire that make them blind when they enter adulthood. The Politician, Police, Middle men all obstruct their way of progress. Most women in such families think that this is there pate. But Mukesh is different from all. He dreams of becoming a motor mechanic.
